Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services, Insurance and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.50%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.84%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.72%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which rose 5.95% or 1.00 points to trade at 17.71 at the close. Meanwhile, Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) added 3.97% or 3.93 points to end at 102.85 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was up 2.25% or 0.22 points to 9.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Siemens AG Class N (ETR:SIEGn), which fell 1.96% or 2.82 points to trade at 141.12 at the close. Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) declined 1.93% or 0.44 points to end at 22.60 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR:BEIG) was down 1.22% or 1.50 points to 121.30.
The top performers on the MDAX were Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which rose 6.59% to 6.73, LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:LEGn) which was up 3.62% to settle at 50.38 and Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which gained 2.89% to close at 2.92.
The worst performers were Gerresheimer AG (ETR:GXIG) which was down 4.28% to 88.25 in late trade, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which lost 2.83% to settle at 12.00 and Encavis AG (ETR:ECVG) which was down 1.26% to 15.73 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which rose 4.73% to 97.50, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:O2Dn) which was up 2.89% to settle at 2.92 and Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which gained 2.47% to close at 17.00.
The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 2.83% to 12.00 in late trade, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which lost 1.93% to settle at 22.60 and Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which was down 1.53% to 29.64 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 405 to 250 and 94 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.11% to 19.02.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.48% or 9.70 to $2,025.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.30% or 0.24 to hit $80.37 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.24% or 0.20 to trade at $84.79 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 101.49.
