Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Basic Resources and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.47% to hit a new 1-month high, while the MDAX index gained 0.29%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Covestro AG (DE:1COV), which rose 4.13% or 1.780 points to trade at 44.900 at the close. Meanwhile, Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) added 3.26% or 2.200 points to end at 69.780 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was up 3.19% or 0.237 points to 7.655 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which fell 1.73% or 0.460 points to trade at 26.100 at the close. SAP SE (DE:SAPG) declined 1.34% or 1.460 points to end at 107.880 and Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) was down 1.20% or 3.30 points to 272.55.
The top performers on the MDAX were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which rose 5.90% to 6.068, Norma Group AG NA O.N. (DE:NOEJ) which was up 5.21% to settle at 33.100 and Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which gained 4.76% to close at 13.315.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was down 2.94% to 98.900 in late trade, Knorr-Bremse AG (DE:KBX) which lost 1.98% to settle at 89.69 and Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which was down 1.57% to 35.44 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which rose 5.62% to 20.120, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (DE:IFXGn) which was up 2.78% to settle at 18.540 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which gained 2.30% to close at 71.180.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was down 2.94% to 98.900 in late trade, Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which lost 2.11% to settle at 51.150 and Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which was down 1.57% to 35.44 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 409 to 275 and 74 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.25% to 14.31 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.56% or 8.45 to $1498.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $55.10 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.03 to trade at $60.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.1078, while EUR/GBP fell 0.92% to 0.8883.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 98.200.
