Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Software, Consumer & Cyclical and Media sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.47%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.48%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.30%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN), which rose 2.51% or 7.10 points to trade at 289.80 at the close. Meanwhile, SAP SE (DE:SAPG) added 1.68% or 1.880 points to end at 114.100 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) was up 1.28% or 0.188 points to 14.844 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG), which fell 1.41% or 1.84 points to trade at 128.54 at the close. BASF SE NA O.N. (DE:BASFN) declined 1.31% or 0.820 points to end at 61.940 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) was down 1.15% or 0.175 points to 15.035.
The top performers on the MDAX were Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which rose 5.76% to 106.500, CTS Eventim AG (DE:EVDG) which was up 4.54% to settle at 46.040 and Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which gained 3.47% to close at 26.240.
The worst performers were Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which was down 1.60% to 35.73 in late trade, Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which lost 1.25% to settle at 26.760 and Metro Wholesale & Food Specialist AG (DE:B4B) which was down 1.23% to 14.8650 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which rose 12.20% to 53.900, Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which was up 5.76% to settle at 106.500 and Aixtron SE NA O.N. (DE:AIXGn) which gained 4.43% to close at 10.1300.
The worst performers were Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which was down 1.89% to 49.200 in late trade, Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which lost 1.60% to settle at 35.73 and Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which was down 1.25% to 26.760 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 390 to 278 and 91 ended unchanged.
Shares in Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN) rose to all time highs; rising 2.51% or 7.10 to 289.80. Shares in Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) rose to all time highs; rising 12.20% or 5.860 to 53.900.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 6.28% to 13.74.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.31% or 4.45 to $1419.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $56.01 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.08 to trade at $63.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.1124, while EUR/GBP rose 0.46% to 0.8982.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 97.768.
