Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer & Cyclical and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.45%, while the MDAX index climbed 1.18%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which rose 3.17% or 6.80 points to trade at 221.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p) added 2.77% or 1.60 points to end at 59.28 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:SATG_p) was up 2.65% or 5.60 points to 216.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which fell 5.02% or 0.77 points to trade at 14.57 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:MTXGn) declined 2.39% or 7.60 points to end at 310.80 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) was down 1.62% or 10.00 points to 609.00.
The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which rose 8.32% to 11.46, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 7.09% to settle at 13.90 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which gained 5.04% to close at 11.89.
The worst performers were CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which was down 2.11% to 81.00 in late trade, Hypoport AG (ETR:HYQGn) which lost 1.59% to settle at 210.60 and Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (ETR:HLE) which was down 1.17% to 84.80 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:S92G) which rose 11.30% to 13.20, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was up 9.76% to settle at 9.33 and Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKTG) which gained 8.13% to close at 43.90.
The worst performers were SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) which was down 1.06% to 223.50 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which lost 1.05% to settle at 98.85 and Atoss Software AG (ETR:AOFG) which was down 0.50% to 119.20 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 399 to 246 and 31 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.86% to 16.05.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 2.88% or 78.70 to $2,658.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.78% or 1.98 to hit $69.26 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.56% or 1.91 to trade at $72.72 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.57% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 107.01.
