Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services, Consumer & Cyclical and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.44%, while the MDAX index gained 0.53%, and the TecDAX index added 0.77%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN), which rose 3.32% or 8.95 points to trade at 278.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) added 2.79% or 1.25 points to end at 46.00 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) was up 1.76% or 4.20 points to 243.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG), which fell 2.43% or 0.345 points to trade at 13.830 at the close. Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) declined 2.21% or 1.46 points to end at 64.61 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) was down 2.05% or 0.142 points to 6.801.
The top performers on the MDAX were Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which rose 2.91% to 93.700, Aareal Bank AG (DE:ARLG) which was up 2.79% to settle at 26.500 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which gained 2.55% to close at 46.680.
The worst performers were Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (DE:JUNG_p) which was down 4.35% to 18.900 in late trade, Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which lost 3.31% to settle at 11.240 and Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which was down 3.19% to 22.450 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which rose 2.91% to 93.700, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:NEKG) which was up 2.55% to settle at 46.680 and Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which gained 2.28% to close at 121.00.
The worst performers were Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which was down 2.25% to 42.520 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which lost 1.74% to settle at 22.650 and New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which was down 1.70% to 259.50 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 373 to 296 and 88 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.59% to 16.92.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.09% or 1.35 to $1513.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.06% or 0.60 to hit $55.89 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.53% or 0.33 to trade at $62.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.0930, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8852.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 98.752.
