Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financial Services, Transportation & Logistics and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.43%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.68%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG), which rose 2.02% or 0.700 points to trade at 35.290 at the close. Meanwhile, Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) added 1.82% or 0.85 points to end at 47.68 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:DPWGn) was up 1.70% or 0.920 points to 54.910 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which fell 13.24% or 13.00 points to trade at 85.20 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG) declined 1.40% or 1.34 points to end at 94.24 and Covestro AG (DE:1COV) was down 1.00% or 0.560 points to 55.600.
The top performers on the MDAX were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which rose 14.94% to 13.28, K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) which was up 3.25% to settle at 16.975 and Rational AG (DE:RAAG) which gained 3.21% to close at 835.80.
The worst performers were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which was down 1.82% to 7.117 in late trade, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (DE:BOSSn) which lost 1.77% to settle at 50.940 and AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) which was down 1.73% to 17.00 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which rose 14.94% to 13.28, Suse SA (DE:SUSEG) which was up 4.71% to settle at 35.60 and Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:EUZG) which gained 3.76% to close at 88.200.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 2.30% to 31.800 in late trade, S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which lost 1.45% to settle at 14.28 and Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which was down 1.08% to 33.000 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 428 to 281 and 72 ended unchanged.
Shares in K&S AG (DE:SDFGn) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.25% or 0.535 to 16.975. Shares in AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) fell to all time lows; down 1.73% or 0.30 to 17.00.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.94% to 17.18.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.44% or 7.95 to $1826.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.15% or 1.75 to hit $82.97 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.52% or 1.27 to trade at $84.99 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.67% to 1.1441, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8347.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.67% at 94.985.
