Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Retail, Technology and Software sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.41%, while the MDAX index added 0.38%, and the TecDAX index added 1.08%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which rose 4.51% or 4.04 points to trade at 93.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) added 3.37% or 4.950 points to end at 151.680 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) was up 2.25% or 1.570 points to 71.300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Allianz SE VNA O.N. (DE:ALVG), which fell 1.28% or 2.15 points to trade at 166.33 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) declined 0.94% or 0.066 points to end at 6.934 and E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn) was down 0.85% or 0.080 points to 9.300.
The top performers on the MDAX were Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which rose 7.25% to 33.14, United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which was up 6.69% to settle at 32.540 and Prosiebensat 1 Media AG (DE:PSMGn) which gained 4.95% to close at 10.6000.
The worst performers were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) which was down 4.39% to 7.446 in late trade, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (DE:TKAG) which lost 3.42% to settle at 4.858 and Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) which was down 2.36% to 62.50 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which rose 6.69% to 32.540, Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was up 4.84% to settle at 117.000 and Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which gained 4.23% to close at 18.345.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 1.80% to 71.880 in late trade, S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which lost 1.36% to settle at 21.70 and Cancom SE O.N. (DE:COKG) which was down 1.20% to 44.320 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 415 to 241 and 90 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.61% to 29.63.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.29% or 5.45 to $1905.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.81% or 0.32 to hit $39.22 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.48% or 0.20 to trade at $41.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.50% to 1.1710, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.9197.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 94.023.
