Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer & Cyclical, Retail and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.39%, while the MDAX index gained 0.66%, and the TecDAX index added 0.44%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN), which rose 4.71% or 12.80 points to trade at 284.65 at the close. Meanwhile, RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) added 2.86% or 0.870 points to end at 31.265 and Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) was up 2.45% or 2.30 points to 96.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn), which fell 1.96% or 2.980 points to trade at 148.700 at the close. Allianz SE VNA O.N. (DE:ALVG) declined 1.91% or 3.18 points to end at 163.15 and MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) was down 1.77% or 2.50 points to 138.75.
The top performers on the MDAX were Osram Licht AG (DE:OSRn) which rose 14.10% to 49.52, HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which was up 8.10% to settle at 45.62 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which gained 6.34% to close at 80.54.
The worst performers were Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which was down 5.32% to 62.300 in late trade, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (DE:AT1) which lost 3.28% to settle at 4.159 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which was down 2.60% to 4.126 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which rose 3.95% to 19.070, Evotec AG O.N. (DE:EVTG) which was up 2.84% to settle at 22.840 and Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which gained 2.45% to close at 20.880.
The worst performers were S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which was down 2.58% to 21.14 in late trade, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which lost 1.76% to settle at 2.288 and Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which was down 1.43% to 11.040 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 409 to 251 and 86 ended unchanged.
Shares in Osram Licht AG (DE:OSRn) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 14.10% or 6.12 to 49.52.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.10% to 28.71.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 2.03% or 38.65 to $1868.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.70% or 0.28 to hit $40.08 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.55% or 0.23 to trade at $41.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1681, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.9163.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 94.252.
