Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Retail, Media and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.38%, while the MDAX index added 1.27%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN), which rose 2.50% or 4.26 points to trade at 174.86 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:FREG) added 2.39% or 0.61 points to end at 26.08 and Merck KGaA (ETR:MRCG) was up 1.75% or 2.65 points to 154.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:P911_p), which fell 1.14% or 0.92 points to trade at 79.72 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) declined 1.09% or 0.35 points to end at 31.84 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (ETR:HEIG) was down 1.08% or 0.90 points to 82.36.
The top performers on the MDAX were Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which rose 19.15% to 22.21, Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:FMEG) which was up 4.34% to settle at 39.39 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which gained 4.05% to close at 34.40.
The worst performers were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which was down 9.99% to 4.97 in late trade, K&S AG (ETR:SDFGn) which lost 1.95% to settle at 12.80 and Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:JUNG_p) which was down 0.98% to 30.34 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:COKG) which rose 5.42% to 29.96, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 4.05% to settle at 34.40 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:JENGn) which gained 3.51% to close at 28.88.
The worst performers were 11 AG (ETR:1U1) which was down 2.32% to 17.68 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which lost 0.88% to settle at 13.48 and Qiagen NV (ETR:QIA) which was down 0.77% to 39.80 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 340 to 282 and 31 ended unchanged.
Shares in RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.09% or 0.35 to 31.84. Shares in Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) fell to 52-week lows; down 9.99% or 0.55 to 4.97.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.96% to 13.77.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.15% or 2.95 to $2,004.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.94% or 0.73 to hit $77.14 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.91% or 0.75 to trade at $82.02 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.48% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 104.62.
