Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Retail, Financial Services and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.38% to hit a new 6-months high, while the MDAX index gained 0.31%, and the TecDAX index added 1.06%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG), which rose 2.29% or 0.940 points to trade at 41.940 at the close. Meanwhile, Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) added 1.80% or 1.02 points to end at 57.58 and Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) was up 1.67% or 1.65 points to 100.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p), which fell 2.58% or 3.77 points to trade at 142.33 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) declined 1.81% or 3.70 points to end at 200.70 and Bayer AG NA (DE:BAYGN) was down 1.35% or 0.67 points to 48.95.
The top performers on the MDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 8.32% to 123.000, Kion Group AG (DE:KGX) which was up 7.72% to settle at 64.82 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which gained 5.55% to close at 384.200.
The worst performers were Rational AG (DE:RAAG) which was down 3.40% to 753.50 in late trade, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which lost 2.72% to settle at 2.329 and Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which was down 2.63% to 36.96 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which rose 8.32% to 123.000, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (DE:SATG_p) which was up 5.55% to settle at 384.200 and Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (DE:EUZG) which gained 2.67% to close at 43.860.
The worst performers were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was down 2.72% to 2.329 in late trade, Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which lost 2.27% to settle at 36.150 and S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which was down 1.54% to 19.21 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 369 to 289 and 41 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 9.81% to 24.18.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.61% or 10.90 to $1777.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.81% or 0.37 to hit $45.16 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.87% or 0.42 to trade at $47.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.1954, while EUR/GBP fell 0.24% to 0.8960.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 91.847.
