Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Food & Beverages and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.37%, while the MDAX index gained 0.61%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:PSHG_p), which rose 2.78% or 1.35 points to trade at 49.92 at the close. Meanwhile, RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:RWEG) added 2.55% or 0.87 points to end at 35.02 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:BAYGN) was up 2.32% or 0.64 points to 28.27 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:DB1Gn), which fell 0.81% or 1.50 points to trade at 182.90 at the close. Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) declined 0.54% or 1.20 points to end at 222.70 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG) was down 0.48% or 0.08 points to 15.59.
The top performers on the MDAX were Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:WCHG) which rose 4.29% to 105.80, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was up 3.79% to settle at 9.18 and Fraport AG (ETR:FRAG) which gained 3.56% to close at 52.35.
The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was down 2.86% to 22.72 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which lost 1.40% to settle at 5.79 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:DHER) which was down 1.11% to 29.53 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which rose 3.79% to 9.18, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 2.73% to settle at 38.32 and Kontron AG (ETR:KTN) which gained 2.21% to close at 21.30.
The worst performers were Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which was down 5.79% to 57.00 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which lost 2.86% to settle at 22.72 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which was down 0.82% to 91.05 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 387 to 231 and 25 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.09% to 12.32 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.87% or 20.30 to $2,354.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.27% or 0.99 to hit $78.71 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.25% or 1.02 to trade at $82.86 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 104.49.
