Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Retail, Technology and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.22%, while the MDAX index added 0.25%, and the TecDAX index added 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER), which rose 2.20% or 1.98 points to trade at 92.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) added 1.80% or 0.960 points to end at 54.150 and Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) was up 1.47% or 0.88 points to 60.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG), which fell 2.28% or 2.07 points to trade at 88.90 at the close. BASF SE NA O.N. (DE:BASFN) declined 0.98% or 0.500 points to end at 50.530 and Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn) was down 0.84% or 1.330 points to 156.800.
The top performers on the MDAX were Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) which rose 5.28% to 77.00, Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was up 2.53% to settle at 9.896 and HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which gained 2.00% to close at 43.96.
The worst performers were Grenke N AG (DE:GLJn) which was down 5.47% to 57.85 in late trade, Fraport AG (DE:FRAG) which lost 3.29% to settle at 37.010 and Evonik Industries AG (DE:EVKn) which was down 3.05% to 23.560 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:NDXG) which rose 3.01% to 11.280, Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which was up 2.53% to settle at 9.896 and LPKF Laser & Electronics (DE:LPKG) which gained 2.40% to close at 21.350.
The worst performers were Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which was down 1.17% to 37.66 in late trade, Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which lost 1.17% to settle at 103.825 and Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which was down 1.01% to 23.600 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 373 to 311 and 69 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) rose to all time highs; rising 1.47% or 0.88 to 60.88. Shares in Zalando SE (DE:ZALG) rose to all time highs; gaining 5.28% or 3.86 to 77.00.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.56% to 28.07.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.07% or 1.45 to $1977.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.70% or 0.30 to hit $42.91 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.73% or 0.33 to trade at $45.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1909, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8906.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 92.368.
