Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Retail, Insurance and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.16%, while the MDAX index gained 0.68%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Covestro AG (DE:1COV), which rose 1.90% or 1.040 points to trade at 55.780 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) added 1.78% or 1.190 points to end at 68.220 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) was up 1.34% or 3.17 points to 240.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Adidas AG (DE:ADSGN), which fell 1.49% or 4.68 points to trade at 308.82 at the close. Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) declined 0.86% or 0.50 points to end at 57.90 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (DE:DPWGn) was down 0.74% or 0.425 points to 57.190.
The top performers on the MDAX were HelloFresh SE (DE:HFGG) which rose 9.22% to 83.88, Shop Apotheke Europe NV (DE:SAEG) which was up 7.01% to settle at 134.400 and Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) which gained 6.08% to close at 44.000.
The worst performers were AUTO1 Group SE (DE:AG1G) which was down 3.36% to 37.40 in late trade, Aurubis AG (DE:NAFG) which lost 2.67% to settle at 73.740 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which was down 1.39% to 191.750 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which rose 4.37% to 27.70, Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which was up 2.81% to settle at 179.00 and SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:S92G) which gained 2.01% to close at 47.680.
The worst performers were S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which was down 2.36% to 19.47 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which lost 1.39% to settle at 191.750 and Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 1.38% to 45.695 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 420 to 257 and 76 ended unchanged.
Shares in Duerr AG (DE:DUEG) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 6.08% or 2.520 to 44.000.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.70% to 17.12.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.30% or 5.25 to $1731.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.32% or 2.21 to hit $68.69 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.88% or 1.99 to trade at $71.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.1718, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.8472.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 93.085.
