Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Transportation & Logistics, Chemicals and Financial Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.14%, while the MDAX index added 0.89%, and the TecDAX index added 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (DE:SY1G), which rose 2.32% or 2.450 points to trade at 108.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) added 2.16% or 1.360 points to end at 64.220 and Covestro AG (DE:1COV) was up 2.02% or 1.080 points to 54.560 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn), which fell 2.23% or 4.30 points to trade at 188.95 at the close. Airbus Group SE (DE:AIRG) declined 1.70% or 1.96 points to end at 113.30 and Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) was down 1.25% or 0.88 points to 69.58.
The top performers on the MDAX were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which rose 16.33% to 15.53, Wacker Chemie O.N. (DE:WCHG) which was up 3.30% to settle at 133.15 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which gained 2.94% to close at 8.132.
The worst performers were Hypoport AG (DE:HYQGn) which was down 2.35% to 398.800 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which lost 1.58% to settle at 59.100 and CTS Eventim AG (DE:EVDG) which was down 1.43% to 63.620 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which rose 16.33% to 15.53, S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which was up 3.16% to settle at 17.00 and Software AG (DE:SOWGn) which gained 2.34% to close at 34.940.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (DE:MORG) which was down 3.92% to 27.970 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COP1n) which lost 1.58% to settle at 59.100 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 1.08% to 119.200 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 379 to 319 and 75 ended unchanged.
Shares in Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) rose to 3-years highs; rising 2.94% or 0.232 to 8.132.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.34% to 22.00.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.52% or 9.35 to $1810.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.29% or 0.26 to hit $87.94 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $89.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1314, while EUR/GBP fell 0.04% to 0.8330.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 95.925.
