Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Construction, Transportation & Logistics and Technology sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.40% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index gained 1.20%, and the TecDAX index added 1.50%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (XETRA:HEIG), which rose 4.33% or 2.720 points to trade at 65.510 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (XETRA:DPWGn) added 4.08% or 1.135 points to end at 28.975 and Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (XETRA:LHAG) was up 2.99% or 0.445 points to 15.345 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Commerzbank AG O.N. (XETRA:CBKG), which fell 1.35% or 0.155 points to trade at 11.300 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (XETRA:RWEG) added 0.10% or 0.025 points to end at 23.890 and Continental AG O.N. (XETRA:CONG) was up 0.25% or 0.500 points to 203.250.

The top performers on the MDAX were Krones AG O.N. (XETRA:KRNG) which rose 4.17% to 83.180, GEA Group AG (XETRA:G1AG) which was up 3.35% to settle at 40.450 and Deutsche Wohnen AG Inh (XETRA:DWNG) which gained 3.11% to close at 23.685.

The worst performers were Bilfinger SE O.N. (XETRA:GBFG) which was down 1.60% to 48.000 in late trade, Salzgitter AG O.N. (XETRA:SZGG) which lost 1.53% to settle at 23.100 and Sky Deutschland AG NA (XETRA:SKYDn) which was down 1.44% to 6.637 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (XETRA:COPMa) which rose 7.64% to 23.680, Xing AG (XETRA:OBCGn) which was up 6.60% to settle at 105.900 and BB Biotech AG (XETRA:BIONn) which gained 3.89% to close at 253.500.

The worst performers were Aixtron SE NA O.N. (XETRA:AIXGn) which was down 0.55% to 7.478 in late trade, Morphosys AG O.N. (XETRA:MORG) which lost 0.01% to settle at 75.340 and Qiagen NV (XETRA:QGEN) which was up 0.21% to 21.000 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 496 to 227 and 26 ended unchanged.

Shares in Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (XETRA:DPWGn) rose to all time highs; rising 4.08% or 1.135 to 28.975. Shares in Continental AG O.N. (XETRA:CONG) rose to all time highs; up 0.25% or 0.500 to 203.250. Shares in GEA Group AG (XETRA:G1AG) rose to all time highs; up 3.35% or 1.310 to 40.450. Shares in Deutsche Wohnen AG Inh (XETRA:DWNG) rose to 3-year highs; rising 3.11% or 0.715 to 23.685. Shares in CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (XETRA:COPMa) rose to all time highs; up 7.64% or 1.680 to 23.680. Shares in Aixtron SE NA O.N. (XETRA:AIXGn) fell to 5-year lows; falling 0.55% or 0.041 to 7.478. Shares in Xing AG (XETRA:OBCGn) rose to all time highs; rising 6.60% or 6.560 to 105.900. Shares in BB Biotech AG (XETRA:BIONn) rose to all time highs; rising 3.89% or 9.500 to 253.500. Shares in Qiagen NV (XETRA:QGEN) rose to all time highs; rising 0.21% or 0.045 to 21.000.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 19.61.

Gold for April delivery was down 1.00% or 12.90 to $1280.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude Oil for delivery in March rose 1.21% or 0.55 to hit $46.14 a barrel, while the March Brent Oil contract rose 0.32% or 0.15 to trade at $48.95 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.70% to 1.1282, while EUR/GBP rose 0.17% to 0.7484.

The US Dollar Index was down 0.29% at 95.04.
