Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Utilities sectors led shares higher while losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 1.24%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which rose 5.37% or 5.75 points to trade at 112.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB) added 3.14% or 2.34 points to end at 76.84 and Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) was up 3.00% or 3.96 points to 135.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY), which fell 0.23% or 0.21 points to trade at 90.23 at the close. L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) declined 0.05% or 0.20 points to end at 405.45 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was up 0.29% or 0.03 points to 9.52.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Mersen (EPA:CBLP) which rose 7.85% to 33.65, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was up 6.64% to settle at 2.73 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which gained 5.37% to close at 112.80.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 5.95% to 0.85 in late trade, Valneva (EPA:VLS) which lost 2.24% to settle at 3.23 and Sodexo SA (EPA:EXHO) which was down 1.96% to 80.05 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 344 to 151 and 95 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.61% or 37.50 to $2,370.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.16% or 0.13 to hit $82.94 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.16% or 0.14 to trade at $86.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.47% at 104.91.
