Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Healthcare and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher while losses in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.72%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.65%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which rose 3.41% or 1.88 points to trade at 57.04 at the close. Meanwhile, BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) added 1.37% or 0.79 points to end at 58.55 and Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) was up 1.31% or 0.33 points to 25.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which fell 0.98% or 0.17 points to trade at 17.39 at the close. Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) declined 0.90% or 0.26 points to end at 28.52 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was down 0.80% or 1.00 points to 124.30.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which rose 4.05% to 0.71, TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) which was up 3.41% to settle at 57.04 and Virbac SA (EPA:VIRB) which gained 3.28% to close at 283.00.
The worst performers were Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which was down 3.21% to 2.47 in late trade, Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which lost 2.73% to settle at 15.66 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 2.18% to 7.17 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 261 to 237 and 113 ended unchanged.
Shares in Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) fell to 5-year lows; down 0.80% or 1.00 to 124.30. Shares in Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.18% or 0.16 to 7.17.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.52% or 10.15 to $1,949.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.66% or 0.55 to hit $83.47 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.65% or 0.56 to trade at $86.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.40% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 102.31.
