Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Utilities sectors led shares higher while losses in the Healthcare, Technology and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.46%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which rose 2.22% or 0.59 points to trade at 27.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 2.02% or 2.15 points to end at 108.70 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) was up 1.99% or 0.61 points to 31.27 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which fell 0.69% or 0.27 points to trade at 38.39 at the close. Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) declined 0.53% or 0.55 points to end at 103.85 and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) was down 0.35% or 0.28 points to 79.20.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) which rose 7.28% to 12.17, ALD SA (EPA:ALDA) which was up 5.79% to settle at 7.49 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which gained 5.56% to close at 19.74.
The worst performers were Fnac Darty SA (EPA:FNAC) which was down 4.59% to 31.15 in late trade, Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which lost 3.14% to settle at 110.90 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 3.11% to 1.99 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 301 to 207 and 100 ended unchanged.
Shares in Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.99% or 0.61 to 31.27.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.86% or 20.05 to $2,354.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.26% or 0.98 to hit $78.70 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.25% or 1.02 to trade at $82.86 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 104.50.
