Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher while losses in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.44%, while the SBF 120 index fell 1.23%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Valeo SA (PA:VLOF), which rose 9.28% or 2.19 points to trade at 25.78 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) added 5.16% or 0.630 points to end at 12.850 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) was up 4.73% or 4.14 points to 91.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dassault Systemes (PA:DAST), which fell 3.06% or 3.35 points to trade at 106.15 at the close. Safran SA (PA:SAF) declined 1.69% or 1.85 points to end at 107.85 and Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) was down 1.50% or 2.00 points to 131.40.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Altran Technologies (PA:ALTT) which rose 12.37% to 8.905, Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) which was up 9.28% to settle at 25.78 and Faurecia (PA:EPED) which gained 8.87% to close at 43.06.
The worst performers were SEB SA (PA:SEBF) which was down 4.44% to 118.30 in late trade, Thales (PA:TCFP) which lost 3.35% to settle at 111.05 and Remy Cointreau (PA:RCOP) which was down 3.29% to 100.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 365 to 223 and 84 ended unchanged.
Shares in SEB SA (PA:SEBF) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.44% or 5.50 to 118.30. Shares in Remy Cointreau (PA:RCOP) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.29% or 3.40 to 100.00.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 13.27% to 22.96 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.11% or 1.40 to $1231.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.62% or 0.42 to hit $67.17 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.18 to trade at $77.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.18% to 1.1381, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.8893.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 96.41.
