Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher while losses in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.15% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index declined 1.18%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY), which rose 4.11% or 1.31 points to trade at 33.21 at the close. Meanwhile, Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) added 3.94% or 76.30 points to end at 2,011.50 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was up 3.20% or 4.20 points to 135.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP), which fell 7.02% or 12.60 points to trade at 167.00 at the close. STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) declined 4.09% or 2.07 points to end at 48.40 and Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) was down 2.85% or 2.79 points to 94.96.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which rose 11.82% to 109.70, Television Francaise 1 SA (EPA:TFFP) which was up 11.52% to settle at 7.36 and Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which gained 10.96% to close at 7.13.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 22.50% to 11.30 in late trade, CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which lost 16.82% to settle at 0.62 and Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which was down 9.98% to 2.80 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 285 to 224 and 106 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.11% or 1.31 to 33.21. Shares in Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) fell to all time lows; falling 9.98% or 0.31 to 2.80.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.73% or 14.20 to $1,959.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.66% or 0.53 to hit $79.56 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.51% or 0.43 to trade at $83.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.48% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 101.34.
