Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Gas & Water, General Financial and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares higher while losses in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.12%, while the SBF 120 index fell 1.27%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which rose 0.94% or 1.85 points to trade at 198.25 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) added 0.88% or 0.38 points to end at 43.53 and L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) was up 0.78% or 3.20 points to 415.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Thales (EPA:TCFP), which fell 1.73% or 2.35 points to trade at 133.30 at the close. TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) declined 1.03% or 0.59 points to end at 56.58 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was down 0.85% or 0.32 points to 37.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which rose 5.59% to 0.78, Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which was up 2.57% to settle at 2.63 and Television Francaise 1 SA (EPA:TFFP) which gained 1.56% to close at 7.48.
The worst performers were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 8.43% to 6.15 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 4.99% to settle at 6.71 and ICADE (EPA:ICAD) which was down 2.90% to 34.84 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 271 to 239 and 105 ended unchanged.
Shares in Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) fell to 5-year lows; down 4.99% or 0.35 to 6.71.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.14% or 2.65 to $1,943.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.79% or 0.66 to hit $82.53 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.67% or 0.58 to trade at $86.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.23% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 102.85.
