Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher while losses in the Industrials, Oil & Gas Producers and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.04%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 3.84% or 2.34 points to trade at 63.20 at the close. Meanwhile, LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH) added 1.93% or 10.20 points to end at 538.10 and Kering SA (PA:PRTP) was up 1.85% or 10.10 points to 557.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which fell 2.00% or 0.81 points to trade at 39.63 at the close. Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) declined 1.65% or 0.71 points to end at 42.34 and Total SA (PA:TOTF) was down 1.63% or 0.57 points to 34.60.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which rose 3.84% to 63.20, SCOR SE (PA:SCOR) which was up 3.01% to settle at 28.04 and Iliad (PA:ILD) which gained 2.91% to close at 155.70.
The worst performers were Neoen SA (PA:NEOEN) which was down 7.17% to 54.40 in late trade, TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which lost 7.87% to settle at 8.25 and Mcphy Energy (PA:MCPHY) which was down 6.47% to 32.55 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 327 to 271 and 75 ended unchanged.
Shares in LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH) rose to all time highs; rising 1.93% or 10.20 to 538.10.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.36% or 6.60 to $1840.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.10% or 0.06 to hit $57.91 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.03 to trade at $60.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.2098, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8769.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.42% at 90.562.
