Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Utilities, Gas & Water and Support Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 1.51%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 2.24%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE), which rose 1.45% or 0.23 points to trade at 15.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Safran SA (EPA:SAF) added 0.57% or 1.20 points to end at 210.20 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was up 0.51% or 0.06 points to 10.83 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA), which fell 4.88% or 1.27 points to trade at 24.87 at the close. Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) declined 4.46% or 1.65 points to end at 35.34 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) was down 3.63% or 1.98 points to 52.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Lectra SA (EPA:LECS) which rose 2.07% to 29.60, Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was up 1.74% to settle at 8.18 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) which gained 1.45% to close at 15.80.
The worst performers were Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which was down 8.00% to 7.96 in late trade, X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA:XFAB) which lost 6.31% to settle at 4.69 and Opmobility SE (EPA:OPM) which was down 5.92% to 8.03 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 306 to 189 and 83 ended unchanged.
Shares in STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) fell to 3-years lows; down 4.88% or 1.27 to 24.87. Shares in Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) fell to 5-year lows; down 8.00% or 0.69 to 7.96. Shares in X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA:XFAB) fell to 3-years lows; losing 6.31% or 0.32 to 4.69. Shares in Opmobility SE (EPA:OPM) fell to 5-year lows; losing 5.92% or 0.51 to 8.03.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.21% or 31.70 to $2,646.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.28% or 0.20 to hit $70.96 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.57% or 0.43 to trade at $74.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 100.46.
