Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher while losses in the Consumer Services, Technology and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.92%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which rose 3.92% or 2.49 points to trade at 65.96 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) added 1.56% or 0.92 points to end at 60.00 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was up 1.51% or 0.71 points to 47.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which fell 3.23% or 0.85 points to trade at 25.48 at the close. Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) declined 2.67% or 2.43 points to end at 88.53 and Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) was down 2.65% or 2.60 points to 95.62.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which rose 15.47% to 1.70, Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which was up 9.30% to settle at 7.17 and Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which gained 5.74% to close at 2.21.
The worst performers were ALD SA (EPA:ALDA) which was down 5.73% to 6.18 in late trade, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which lost 4.90% to settle at 2.66 and Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which was down 4.28% to 9.88 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 294 to 240 and 83 ended unchanged.
Shares in TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) rose to all time highs; up 3.92% or 2.49 to 65.96. Shares in Renault SA (EPA:RENA) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 1.51% or 0.71 to 47.50.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.98% or 22.20 to $2,279.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.43% or 1.20 to hit $84.91 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.42% or 1.24 to trade at $88.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 104.51.
