Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financials and Utilities sectors led shares higher while losses in the Technology, Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.84%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP), which rose 6.88% or 2.12 points to trade at 32.93 at the close. Meanwhile, Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) added 1.06% or 0.31 points to end at 29.56 and TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) was up 0.80% or 0.48 points to 60.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 4.19% or 1.11 points to trade at 25.37 at the close. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) declined 4.17% or 3.02 points to end at 69.36 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) was down 3.53% or 1.53 points to 41.68.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Beneteau SA (EPA:CHBE) which rose 7.50% to 12.32, Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) which was up 6.88% to settle at 32.93 and ALD SA (EPA:ALDA) which gained 2.45% to close at 5.44.
The worst performers were CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which was down 5.89% to 0.38 in late trade, Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which unchanged 5.30% to settle at 0.01 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 5.02% to 2.40 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 347 to 171 and 98 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.22% or 24.85 to $2,008.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.34% or 1.03 to hit $77.95 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.02% or 0.84 to trade at $82.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.50% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.61% at 104.68.
