Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares higher while losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Services and Aerospace & Defense sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.57%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.54%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Thales (EPA:TCFP), which rose 2.04% or 2.90 points to trade at 144.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) added 0.91% or 0.14 points to end at 15.56 and Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY) was up 0.77% or 0.25 points to 32.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH), which fell 1.94% or 11.80 points to trade at 595.90 at the close. Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) declined 1.62% or 2.05 points to end at 124.55 and Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) was down 1.54% or 0.56 points to 35.86.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 7.11% to 0.73, Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was up 6.55% to settle at 12.61 and Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which gained 4.04% to close at 8.25.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 2.89% to 3.90 in late trade, Lectra SA (EPA:LECS) which lost 2.78% to settle at 28.00 and Inter Parfums Inc. (EPA:IPAR) which was down 2.71% to 41.30 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 251 to 216 and 110 ended unchanged.
Shares in LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.94% or 11.80 to 595.90.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.14% or 3.70 to $2,596.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.70% or 0.49 to hit $69.47 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.73% or 0.54 to trade at $73.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 100.61.
