Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors led shares higher while losses in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Aerospace & Defense sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.46%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Thales (EPA:TCFP), which rose 2.32% or 3.15 points to trade at 138.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) added 1.07% or 0.62 points to end at 58.64 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was up 0.59% or 0.22 points to 37.83 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR), which fell 3.87% or 0.63 points to trade at 15.78 at the close. Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) declined 2.22% or 0.67 points to end at 29.52 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) was down 1.95% or 0.23 points to 11.56.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which rose 6.93% to 21.44, Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which was up 3.51% to settle at 63.40 and Ipsos (EPA:ISOS) which gained 2.55% to close at 64.30.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was unchanged 7.75% to 0.01 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 6.56% to settle at 2.25 and Alten SA (EPA:LTEN) which was down 5.71% to 132.10 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 311 to 203 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) unchanged to all time lows; unchanged 7.75% or 0.00 to 0.01. Shares in Ipsos (EPA:ISOS) rose to all time highs; rising 2.55% or 1.60 to 64.30.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.66% or 13.50 to $2,035.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.07% or 0.82 to hit $77.31 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.84% or 0.68 to trade at $81.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.19% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 103.71.
