Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Utilities, Financials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.36%, while the SBF 120 index added 0.61%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST), which rose 2.86% or 1.21 points to trade at 43.28 at the close. Meanwhile, Renault SA (EPA:RENA) added 2.13% or 0.76 points to end at 36.24 and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) was up 1.89% or 1.24 points to 66.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR), which fell 3.48% or 0.55 points to trade at 15.23 at the close. TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) declined 3.17% or 1.91 points to end at 58.39 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was down 2.64% or 3.80 points to 140.35.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which rose 3.86% to 3.60, Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) which was up 2.86% to settle at 43.28 and Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) which gained 2.66% to close at 7.72.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 6.28% to 2.64 in late trade, Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which lost 4.72% to settle at 11.11 and Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 4.41% to 2.12 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 336 to 189 and 96 ended unchanged.
Shares in Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.48% or 0.55 to 15.23. Shares in Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) fell to all time lows; losing 6.28% or 0.18 to 2.64. Shares in Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) fell to 3-years lows; falling 4.72% or 0.55 to 11.11.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.11% or 2.35 to $2,053.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.45% or 0.33 to hit $73.64 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.41% or 0.32 to trade at $78.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 103.98.
