Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors led shares higher while losses in the Consumer Services, Healthcare and Aerospace & Defense sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.27%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV), which rose 1.60% or 0.17 points to trade at 10.46 at the close. Meanwhile, Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM) added 1.34% or 0.27 points to end at 20.49 and Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) was up 0.98% or 0.91 points to 93.36 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 2.02% or 3.00 points to trade at 145.65 at the close. Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) declined 1.37% or 2.06 points to end at 147.80 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was down 1.13% or 1.55 points to 135.35.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were SEB SA (EPA:SEBF) which rose 6.17% to 113.50, Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which was up 5.15% to settle at 251.20 and Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) which gained 2.51% to close at 26.96.
The worst performers were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was down 9.88% to 3.99 in late trade, Vusiongroup SA (EPA:VU) which lost 4.56% to settle at 138.00 and Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was down 2.89% to 2.62 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 281 to 231 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.60% or 0.17 to 10.46.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.85% or 17.35 to $2,068.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.94% or 1.51 to hit $76.31 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.73% or 1.43 to trade at $81.07 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 102.97.
