Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Financials and Technology sectors led shares higher while losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.07%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which rose 3.11% or 1.16 points to trade at 38.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) added 2.78% or 1.80 points to end at 66.54 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STM) was up 2.68% or 1.15 points to 44.27 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which fell 1.77% or 1.01 points to trade at 55.97 at the close. L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) declined 1.49% or 5.65 points to end at 372.40 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was down 1.47% or 0.87 points to 58.30.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which rose 13.88% to 104.20, Derichebourg (EPA:DBG) which was up 3.34% to settle at 6.49 and Imerys SA (EPA:IMTP) which gained 3.21% to close at 39.24.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 22.19% to 5.54 in late trade, SCOR SE (EPA:SCOR) which lost 2.12% to settle at 22.16 and TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) which was down 1.77% to 55.97 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 305 to 253 and 84 ended unchanged.
Shares in Renault SA (EPA:RENA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.11% or 1.16 to 38.40. Shares in Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.78% or 1.80 to 66.54. Shares in STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STM) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.68% or 1.15 to 44.27. Shares in Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) fell to 5-year lows; falling 22.19% or 1.58 to 5.54.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.22% or 4.25 to $1,941.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 3.40% or 2.68 to hit $76.19 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 3.44% or 2.94 to trade at $82.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.42% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.58% to 0.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 101.61.
