Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher while losses in the Industrials, Oil & Gas Producers and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.05%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 3.76% or 2.30 points to trade at 63.52 at the close. Meanwhile, Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE) added 2.55% or 0.69 points to end at 27.76 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was up 1.88% or 0.22 points to 11.82 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Danone SA (PA:DANO), which fell 3.00% or 1.72 points to trade at 55.61 at the close. Safran SA (PA:SAF) declined 2.17% or 2.46 points to end at 111.00 and Thales (PA:TCFP) was down 1.57% or 1.30 points to 81.26.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Mercialys SA (PA:MERY) which rose 7.31% to 9.62, Mcphy Energy (PA:MCPHY) which was up 5.20% to settle at 20.22 and Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which gained 4.47% to close at 19.50.
The worst performers were Valneva (PA:VLS) which was down 5.02% to 15.130 in late trade, Air France KLM SA (PA:AIRF) which lost 3.32% to settle at 3.99 and Danone SA (PA:DANO) which was down 3.00% to 55.61 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 333 to 263 and 100 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.32% or 5.70 to $1771.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.99% or 0.81 to hit $82.50 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.81% or 0.68 to trade at $85.01 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1632, while EUR/GBP fell 0.36% to 0.8425.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 93.755.
