Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher while losses in the Industrials, Oil & Gas Producers and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.05%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Alstom SA (PA:ALSO), which rose 2.76% or 1.13 points to trade at 42.03 at the close. Meanwhile, EssilorLuxottica SA (PA:ESLX) added 2.27% or 3.10 points to end at 139.80 and Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) was up 1.15% or 1.85 points to 163.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Safran SA (PA:SAF), which fell 1.62% or 1.80 points to trade at 109.10 at the close. Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) declined 1.54% or 0.48 points to end at 30.74 and Thales (PA:TCFP) was down 1.28% or 1.00 points to 76.84.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Alstom SA (PA:ALSO) which rose 2.76% to 42.03, Accor SA (PA:ACCP) which was up 2.67% to settle at 31.96 and Remy Cointreau (PA:RCOP) which gained 2.33% to close at 162.30.
The worst performers were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which was down 6.32% to 6.79 in late trade, Mercialys SA (PA:MERY) which lost 5.31% to settle at 7.58 and Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which was down 3.44% to 18.39 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 330 to 251 and 92 ended unchanged.
Shares in Remy Cointreau (PA:RCOP) rose to all time highs; up 2.33% or 3.70 to 162.30.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.52% or 9.40 to $1813.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.74% or 0.44 to hit $59.91 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.25% or 0.16 to trade at $63.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.2118, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.8701.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 90.448.
