Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Gas & Water, General Financial and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.66%, while the SBF 120 index lost 1.67%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Orange SA (EPA:ORAN), which rose 1.01% or 0.12 points to trade at 11.81 at the close. Meanwhile, Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY) added 0.37% or 0.12 points to end at 32.15 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was up 0.30% or 0.35 points to 116.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP), which fell 7.42% or 4.04 points to trade at 50.40 at the close. Safran SA (EPA:SAF) declined 4.20% or 4.04 points to end at 92.09 and Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) was down 4.14% or 4.44 points to 102.74.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Getlink SE (EPA:GETP) which rose 1.33% to 18.70, Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which was up 1.21% to settle at 13.83 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) which gained 1.01% to close at 11.81.
The worst performers were Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which was down 20.63% to 3.45 in late trade, Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) which lost 7.42% to settle at 50.40 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 6.34% to 10.64 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 399 to 149 and 94 ended unchanged.
Shares in Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.01% or 0.12 to 11.81. Shares in Safran SA (EPA:SAF) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.20% or 4.04 to 92.09. Shares in Getlink SE (EPA:GETP) rose to all time highs; rising 1.33% or 0.25 to 18.70. Shares in Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.21% or 0.17 to 13.83. Shares in Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) rose to 52-week highs; rising 1.01% or 0.12 to 11.81.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.98% or 18.03 to $1,865.83 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.42% or 0.46 to hit $109.83 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $110.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.39% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP rose 0.84% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 101.79.
