Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 1.59%, while the SBF 120 index declined 1.58%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Worldline SA (PA:WLN), which rose 3.26% or 2.12 points to trade at 67.12 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) added 2.28% or 0.30 points to end at 13.65 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) was up 1.74% or 2.60 points to 152.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which fell 7.74% or 1.70 points to trade at 20.20 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 6.47% or 3.30 points to end at 47.70 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) was down 5.69% or 3.42 points to 56.70.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) which rose 5.54% to 243.80, Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:MDM) which was up 5.29% to settle at 10.74 and Biomerieux SA (PA:BIOX) which gained 3.78% to close at 129.10.
The worst performers were Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which was down 10.81% to 5.53 in late trade, CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which lost 8.52% to settle at 0.967 and CNP Assurances SA (PA:CNPP) which was down 8.47% to 9.46 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 357 to 224 and 83 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 4.29% to 29.86.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.35% or 23.20 to $1736.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.16% or 0.39 to hit $33.32 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.83% or 0.30 to trade at $35.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1098, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.9011.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.00% at 98.375.
