Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.53%, while the SBF 120 index lost 1.73%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP), which rose 1.93% or 1.91 points to trade at 101.05 at the close. Meanwhile, L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) added 0.70% or 2.00 points to end at 287.30 and Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) was up 0.34% or 0.50 points to 146.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which fell 5.71% or 1.39 points to trade at 22.96 at the close. Bouygues SA (PA:BOUY) declined 5.07% or 1.51 points to end at 28.29 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 4.72% or 0.59 points to 11.86.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) which rose 4.52% to 84.14, Coface (PA:COFA) which was up 3.34% to settle at 6.80 and Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) which gained 2.78% to close at 716.20.
The worst performers were Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:MDM) which was down 15.55% to 11.62 in late trade, Groupe FNAC (PA:FNAC) which lost 7.65% to settle at 37.40 and Television Francaise 1 SA (PA:TFFP) which was down 7.37% to 4.84 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 485 to 107 and 60 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ubisoft Entertainment (PA:UBIP) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 4.52% or 3.64 to 84.14.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 1.72% to 30.26 a new 3-months high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.26% or 4.95 to $1910.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.41% or 0.93 to hit $39.49 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.98% or 0.81 to trade at $41.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.1833, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.9057.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 92.812.
