Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 1.41%, while the SBF 120 index fell 1.41%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which rose 2.11% or 1.60 points to trade at 77.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) added 1.22% or 3.80 points to end at 315.30 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STM) was up 0.56% or 0.18 points to 31.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which fell 4.66% or 2.26 points to trade at 46.09 at the close. Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) declined 3.88% or 1.35 points to end at 33.44 and BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) was down 3.80% or 1.63 points to 41.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) which rose 2.11% to 77.50, Getlink SE (EPA:GETP) which was up 1.62% to settle at 18.88 and Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which gained 1.53% to close at 16.28.
The worst performers were Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which was down 5.78% to 10.44 in late trade, CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which lost 5.42% to settle at 0.74 and Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which was down 4.78% to 8.64 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 336 to 180 and 106 ended unchanged.
Shares in BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.80% or 1.63 to 41.10. Shares in Getlink SE (EPA:GETP) rose to all time highs; rising 1.62% or 0.30 to 18.88.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.82% or 31.55 to $1,703.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.84% or 1.77 to hit $94.53 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.77% or 1.76 to trade at $97.81 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.70% to 1.00, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.93% at 108.76.
