Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.36%, while the SBF 120 index unchanged 0.00%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR), which rose 0.84% or 0.13 points to trade at 15.64 at the close. Meanwhile, TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) fell 0.07% or 0.05 points to end at 67.00 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was down 0.32% or 0.04 points to 10.81 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB), which fell 2.42% or 1.80 points to trade at 72.46 at the close. Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) declined 2.28% or 1.40 points to end at 60.02 and Bouygues SA (EPA:BOUY) was down 2.31% or 0.87 points to 36.80.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which rose 1.67% to 140.00, Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) which was up 1.36% to settle at 28.24 and Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) which gained 0.84% to close at 15.64.
The worst performers were Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was down 5.69% to 1.89 in late trade, Elior Group (EPA:ELIOR) which lost 5.02% to settle at 2.50 and Verallia (EPA:VRLA) which was down 3.56% to 34.14 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 330 to 113 and 96 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.03% or 0.70 to $2,307.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.10% or 0.09 to hit $86.50 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.13% or 0.12 to trade at $90.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 104.04.
