Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Healthcare and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 1.33%, while the SBF 120 index lost 1.24%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN), which rose 3.90% or 0.91 points to trade at 24.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE (EPA:URW) added 3.01% or 1.33 points to end at 45.49 and TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) was up 1.97% or 1.10 points to 57.02 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS), which fell 6.54% or 132.30 points to trade at 1,890.20 at the close. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) declined 5.01% or 44.00 points to end at 834.20 and Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) was down 3.60% or 0.34 points to 9.10.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) which rose 3.90% to 24.27, CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which was up 3.84% to settle at 0.68 and Valneva (EPA:VLS) which gained 3.31% to close at 5.87.
The worst performers were Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) which was down 6.54% to 1,890.20 in late trade, LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:LVMH) which lost 5.01% to settle at 834.20 and Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) which was down 3.60% to 9.10 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 304 to 231 and 79 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.09% or 1.80 to $1,975.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.85% or 1.33 to hit $73.38 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.64% or 1.25 to trade at $77.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.43% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 103.46.
