Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 1.33%, while the SBF 120 index declined 1.28%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 2.86% or 1.10 points to trade at 39.59 at the close. Meanwhile, Accor SA (PA:ACCP) added 2.25% or 0.52 points to end at 23.68 and Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) was up 0.35% or 0.10 points to 28.81 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (PA:RENA), which fell 4.86% or 1.19 points to trade at 23.20 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) declined 4.08% or 0.41 points to end at 9.74 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE) was down 3.22% or 0.62 points to 18.63.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Covivio SA (PA:CVO) which rose 3.23% to 63.85, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which was up 2.86% to settle at 39.59 and ICADE (PA:ICAD) which gained 2.57% to close at 55.85.
The worst performers were Eramet SA (PA:ERMT) which was down 5.57% to 26.44 in late trade, Renault SA (PA:RENA) which lost 4.86% to settle at 23.20 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which was down 4.08% to 9.74 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 394 to 141 and 99 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 10.26% to 23.80.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.93% or 18.30 to $1952.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.90% or 0.39 to hit $42.72 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.32% or 0.60 to trade at $44.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.1856, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.8989.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 92.815.
