Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Gas & Water, General Financial and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.27%, while the SBF 120 index declined 1.22%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Worldline SA (PA:WLN), which rose 5.78% or 2.50 points to trade at 45.76 at the close. Meanwhile, Sanofi SA (PA:SASY) added 1.04% or 0.97 points to end at 93.83 and Danone SA (PA:DANO) was up 0.93% or 0.51 points to 55.39 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 3.98% or 2.86 points to trade at 69.07 at the close. EssilorLuxottica SA (PA:ESLX) declined 3.65% or 6.40 points to end at 168.78 and Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS) was down 3.53% or 44.00 points to 1202.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ipsen SA (PA:IPN) which rose 6.42% to 96.48, Worldline SA (PA:WLN) which was up 5.78% to settle at 45.76 and Atos SE (PA:ATOS) which gained 4.28% to close at 33.40.
The worst performers were Soitec SA (PA:SOIT) which was down 4.22% to 152.00 in late trade, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which lost 3.98% to settle at 69.07 and Rubis SCA (PA:RUBF) which was down 3.73% to 29.94 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 346 to 203 and 94 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ipsen SA (PA:IPN) rose to 52-week highs; rising 6.42% or 5.82 to 96.48.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.26% or 4.75 to $1842.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.33% or 2.09 to hit $91.97 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 2.08% or 1.90 to trade at $93.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.1396, while EUR/GBP fell 0.58% to 0.8379.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 95.730.
