Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.15%, while the SBF 120 index declined 1.10%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB), which rose 4.87% or 1.21 points to trade at 26.07 at the close. Meanwhile, Carrefour SA (PA:CARR) added 2.40% or 0.30 points to end at 12.81 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) was up 1.29% or 0.13 points to 9.91 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 8.16% or 3.69 points to trade at 41.52 at the close. Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) declined 4.82% or 1.23 points to end at 24.28 and Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP) was down 3.41% or 2.98 points to 84.38.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) which rose 4.87% to 26.07, Verallia (PA:VRLA) which was up 4.35% to settle at 24.00 and Iliad (PA:ILD) which gained 2.62% to close at 148.70.
The worst performers were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which was down 8.16% to 41.52 in late trade, Natixis (PA:CNAT) which lost 7.99% to settle at 1.83 and Maisons du Monde SAS (PA:MDM) which was down 7.22% to 8.80 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 342 to 205 and 89 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 17.34% to 32.77.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.58% or 27.65 to $1724.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.06% or 0.02 to hit $33.51 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.14% or 0.05 to trade at $35.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.0956, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8959.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 99.420.
