Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.13% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index fell 1.14%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP), which rose 2.93% or 3.25 points to trade at 114.10 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (PA:STM) added 1.91% or 0.63 points to end at 33.66 and Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) was up 1.39% or 0.59 points to 43.09 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP), which fell 2.56% or 1.05 points to trade at 40.15 at the close. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH) declined 2.51% or 13.00 points to end at 504.00 and Vivendi SA (PA:VIV) was down 2.11% or 0.55 points to 25.56.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Kaufman Et Broad (PA:KOF) which rose 7.65% to 38.00, Metropole Television SA (PA:MMTP) which was up 4.81% to settle at 13.94 and Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (PA:STDM) which gained 3.20% to close at 341.60.
The worst performers were Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which was down 4.29% to 25.070 in late trade, Klepierre SA (PA:LOIM) which lost 3.91% to settle at 19.89 and Coface (PA:COFA) which was down 3.64% to 8.20 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 376 to 224 and 60 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.09% or 20.10 to $1861.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.73% or 0.38 to hit $52.72 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.76% or 0.42 to trade at $55.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.2150, while EUR/GBP rose 0.20% to 0.8851.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 90.422.
