Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 1.11%, while the SBF 120 index fell 1.12%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were EssilorLuxottica SA (PA:ESLX), which rose 0.94% or 1.20 points to trade at 129.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) added 0.31% or 0.13 points to end at 42.34 and Sodexo SA (PA:EXHO) was up 0.25% or 0.25 points to 100.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 7.26% or 0.942 points to trade at 12.042 at the close. Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP) declined 2.46% or 2.75 points to end at 109.25 and L’Oreal SA (PA:OREP) was down 2.23% or 5.30 points to 232.70.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (PA:CASP) which rose 0.97% to 34.50, EssilorLuxottica SA (PA:ESLX) which was up 0.94% to settle at 129.35 and Ipsos (PA:ISOS) which gained 0.86% to close at 23.45.
The worst performers were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which was down 7.26% to 12.042 in late trade, Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which lost 4.53% to settle at 20.22 and Neopost SA (PA:NPOS) which was down 3.92% to 17.67 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 364 to 176 and 107 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 3.87% to 18.19.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.11% or 1.65 to $1511.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.83% or 2.01 to hit $54.55 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.28% or 1.31 to trade at $58.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.30% to 1.1212, while EUR/GBP rose 0.83% to 0.9288.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 97.278.
