Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.94%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.89%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI), which rose 4.57% or 1.04 points to trade at 23.79 at the close. Meanwhile, Total SA (PA:TOTF) added 2.50% or 1.17 points to end at 47.81 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:VIE) was up 1.06% or 0.230 points to 21.880 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH), which fell 3.90% or 14.90 points to trade at 367.10 at the close. Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) declined 3.39% or 4.26 points to end at 121.24 and Hermes International SCA (PA:HRMS) was down 2.80% or 18.00 points to 625.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were TechnipFMC PLC (PA:FTI) which rose 4.57% to 23.79, Genfit (PA:GNFT) which was up 4.21% to settle at 16.330 and Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which gained 3.28% to close at 2.834.
The worst performers were Coface (PA:COFA) which was down 5.16% to 10.84 in late trade, LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH) which lost 3.90% to settle at 367.10 and Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) which was down 3.39% to 121.24 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 347 to 215 and 102 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 6.00% to 14.87.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.78% or 11.65 to $1511.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 13.49% or 7.39 to hit $62.19 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 13.93% or 8.39 to trade at $68.61 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.64% to 1.1002, while EUR/GBP rose 0.00% to 0.8854.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 98.197.
