Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.91%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.86%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF), which rose 2.60% or 8.60 points to trade at 339.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Pernod Ricard SA (PA:PERP) added 1.97% or 3.55 points to end at 183.50 and EssilorLuxottica SA (PA:ESLX) was up 1.96% or 2.94 points to 152.96 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kering SA (PA:PRTP), which fell 2.95% or 22.50 points to trade at 739.40 at the close. Orange SA (PA:ORAN) declined 2.54% or 0.25 points to end at 9.66 and Safran SA (PA:SAF) was down 2.09% or 2.64 points to 123.90.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Europcar Groupe SA (PA:EUCAR) which rose 9.47% to 0.4300, Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF) which was up 2.60% to settle at 339.90 and Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which gained 2.28% to close at 4.66.
The worst performers were Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (PA:GTT) which was down 3.44% to 68.80 in late trade, Iliad (PA:ILD) which lost 3.06% to settle at 123.50 and Kering SA (PA:PRTP) which was down 2.95% to 739.40 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 382 to 206 and 80 ended unchanged.

Shares in Iliad (PA:ILD) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.06% or 3.90 to 123.50.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.56% or 9.95 to $1787.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.04% or 0.76 to hit $73.61 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.04% or 0.78 to trade at $75.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1948, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8549.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 91.668.
