Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.89%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.91%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Vinci SA (PA:SGEF), which rose 1.44% or 1.33 points to trade at 93.67 at the close. Meanwhile, Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) added 1.29% or 0.70 points to end at 54.96 and Total SA (PA:TOTF) was up 1.14% or 0.42 points to 37.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST), which fell 3.42% or 6.60 points to trade at 186.35 at the close. Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) declined 3.18% or 3.18 points to end at 96.73 and Worldline SA (PA:WLN) was down 3.03% or 2.43 points to 77.89.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Trigano SA (PA:TRIA) which rose 11.32% to 167.20, DBV Technologies (PA:DBV) which was up 6.04% to settle at 11.23 and Vallourec (PA:VLLP) which gained 3.51% to close at 28.280.
The worst performers were Neoen SA (PA:NEOEN) which was down 5.93% to 36.20 in late trade, Mcphy Energy (PA:MCPHY) which lost 5.77% to settle at 28.74 and Soitec SA (PA:SOIT) which was down 4.81% to 160.30 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 414 to 182 and 75 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vinci SA (PA:SGEF) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.44% or 1.33 to 93.67. Shares in Worldline SA (PA:WLN) fell to all time lows; falling 3.03% or 2.43 to 77.89. Shares in Trigano SA (PA:TRIA) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 11.32% or 17.00 to 167.20.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.86% or 15.40 to $1776.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.72% or 1.11 to hit $65.60 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.81% or 1.22 to trade at $68.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.36% to 1.2018, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8659.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 91.255.
