Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.87%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.87%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 2.87% or 0.348 points to trade at 12.488 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (PA:SOGN) added 2.08% or 0.46 points to end at 22.58 and Publicis Groupe SA (PA:PUBP) was up 1.24% or 0.53 points to 43.39 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST), which fell 3.59% or 4.75 points to trade at 127.60 at the close. Airbus Group SE (PA:AIR) declined 2.80% or 3.58 points to end at 124.42 and Capgemini SE (PA:CAPP) was down 2.29% or 2.50 points to 106.90.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which rose 2.87% to 12.488, Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which was up 2.37% to settle at 11.65 and Eramet SA (PA:ERMT) which gained 2.33% to close at 42.13.
The worst performers were Alten SA (PA:LTEN) which was down 3.69% to 106.90 in late trade, Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) which lost 3.59% to settle at 127.60 and Worldline SA (PA:WLN) which was down 3.57% to 62.200 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 305 to 226 and 111 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 7.28% to 17.49.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.47% or 7.05 to $1508.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.63% or 0.35 to hit $55.33 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.55% or 0.33 to trade at $59.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.01% to 1.1081, while EUR/GBP fell 1.03% to 0.9044.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 98.090.
