Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.85%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.88%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE), which rose 1.28% or 0.18 points to trade at 14.61 at the close. Meanwhile, Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) added 1.27% or 1.24 points to end at 99.15 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) was up 1.22% or 2.60 points to 214.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF), which fell 7.24% or 12.75 points to trade at 163.25 at the close. Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) declined 5.72% or 4.14 points to end at 68.22 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 5.44% or 1.39 points to 24.25.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which rose 24.45% to 5.24, SES (EPA:SESFd) which was up 4.39% to settle at 5.83 and Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which gained 3.25% to close at 160.20.
The worst performers were Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) which was down 7.24% to 163.25 in late trade, Metropole Television SA (EPA:MMTP) which lost 6.80% to settle at 12.75 and Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which was down 6.35% to 18.15 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 346 to 187 and 82 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.08% or 21.95 to $2,058.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.31% or 0.21 to hit $68.81 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.62% or 0.45 to trade at $72.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.52% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 101.07.
