Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.82%, while the SBF 120 index declined 0.74%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 1.62% or 0.68 points to trade at 42.36 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STM) added 1.62% or 0.57 points to end at 35.55 and Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) was up 1.45% or 1.02 points to 71.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 4.14% or 0.90 points to trade at 20.86 at the close. Vinci SA (EPA:SGEF) declined 2.56% or 2.14 points to end at 81.56 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) was down 2.29% or 0.28 points to 11.95.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which rose 4.96% to 0.80, Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which was up 4.37% to settle at 11.94 and Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which gained 3.33% to close at 16.13.
The worst performers were Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which was down 20.18% to 67.85 in late trade, Mcphy Energy (EPA:MCPHY) which lost 7.44% to settle at 10.14 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which was down 4.14% to 20.86 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 264 to 262 and 97 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vinci SA (EPA:SGEF) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.56% or 2.14 to 81.56.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.03% or 0.60 to $1,720.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.56% or 0.49 to hit $88.25 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.76% or 0.71 to trade at $94.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.80% to 0.98, while EUR/GBP rose 0.84% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.97% at 112.08.
