Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 0.81%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were EssilorLuxottica SA (PA:ESLX), which rose 1.31% or 2.16 points to trade at 167.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) added 1.09% or 1.18 points to end at 109.72 and BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) was up 0.45% or 0.26 points to 58.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 4.48% or 2.87 points to trade at 61.22 at the close. Kering SA (PA:PRTP) declined 2.39% or 16.00 points to end at 652.80 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH) was down 2.23% or 14.80 points to 650.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Valneva (PA:VLS) which rose 32.75% to 15.930, Mcphy Energy (PA:MCPHY) which was up 1.53% to settle at 19.22 and EssilorLuxottica SA (PA:ESLX) which gained 1.31% to close at 167.00.
The worst performers were Albioma SA (PA:ABIO) which was down 6.22% to 31.96 in late trade, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) which lost 4.48% to settle at 61.22 and Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which was down 3.62% to 6.53 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 360 to 238 and 96 ended unchanged.
Shares in BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) rose to 3-years highs; up 0.45% or 0.26 to 58.01.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 6-months high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.00% or 0.05 to $1768.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.05% or 0.04 to hit $81.69 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.33% or 0.28 to trade at $84.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1609, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8457.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 93.953.
